Dr. Alizadeh performs rhinoplasty surgery on an outpatient basis in one of many boutique NYC-area operating rooms certified by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) or the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF). Rhinoplasty surgery is performed under either local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia, and Dr. Alizadeh will help you determine the best method based on your clinical needs. The surgery itself generally requires one to three hours. Dr. Alizadeh performs both closed rhinoplasty and open rhinoplasty surgery. Once all incisions are closed with absorbable sutures or surgical glues, Dr. Alizadeh will place a small cast on the nose. Recovery from rhinoplasty surgery ranges from one to two weeks, during which time you may be required to wear a nasal cast or splint across the nasal bridge.
