He understands precisely how our dynamic or mimetic muscles contract to form facial expressions to communicate non-verbally. He knows that the wrinkles between our brows are caused by years of contracting the corrugator supercilii and procerus muscles when we frown with disappointment, anger, or concentration.

He knows that our forehead creases are caused from repeatedly raising our frontalis muscle to express surprise, curiosity, or skepticism. He understands that because the skin attached to those muscles moves each time the muscles contract, years of repetition lead to a breakdown of collagen and elastin, which serve to support the skin. As a result, wrinkles, lines, and deep creases appear. Dr. Alizadeh administers BOTOX® with precision to calm those very muscles involved in creating facial expressions that eventually lead to undesirable wrinkles.

In addition, Dr. Alizadeh's foremost concern is your safety, comfort, and satisfaction. Through years of experience administering BOTOX®, he has developed specialized injection procedures. Additionally, he can confidently guarantee a pain-free experience by applying anesthetic numbing creams beforehand and teaching patients pre-procedure calming strategies. He also offers supplements to minimize post-procedure bruising and always makes sure that you will be able to express yourself freely and naturally once the BOTOX® takes effect. What to Expect from Your Botox® Injections

This simple, 15-minute office procedure requires no preparation beforehand unless you have elected to take supplements to minimize bruising. If needed, Dr. Alizadeh will apply a numbing anesthetic cream to the injection site(s) for increased comfort. He will then carefully ease the medication into the target areas, and you may feel only a small amount of pressure from the needle. For anxious patients we even provide ProNox to help keep you calm and relaxed.

Following your treatment, you will be instructed not to massage the area for 48 hours, but you may wash your face and apply makeup directly afterward. Due to the effortless aftercare, many of our patients schedule their Long Island BOTOX® appointments during their lunch hour.

Results from treatment begin to appear in approximately three days, and full results are visible in two weeks. The results from your first BOTOX® treatment will last approximately three months. Dr. Alizadeh's patients have reported that each consecutive application lasts slightly longer than the one before; some eventually schedule their maintenance every six months.
