ExoBoost Hair Restoration Overview

Introducing ExoBoost Hair Restoration

Unveiling ExoBoost, the revolutionary hair restoration treatment advanced by Dr. Alizadeh, a top plastic surgeon in NYC. This treatment leverages the regenerative potential of exosomes derived from your very own stem cells. This innovative approach stimulates intricate cellular communication and growth. With a specific focus on hair follicles, ExoBoost influences their behavior to enhance both density and vitality.

This treatment is strategically designed to deliver growth factors directly to the scalp, fostering the natural rejuvenation processes of the skin. By doing so, it promises to reinforce existing hair and reactivate dormant follicles, ultimately leading to increased thickness and robust hair growth.

What You Need to Know About Hair Growth
and Loss

Hair Follicle Structure

Your hair follicles are complex structures that exist below the skin's surface. Each follicle features a bulb and papilla where blood vessels provide nutrients essential for hair growth. The follicle is surrounded by the outer and inner root sheath, which protect and shape the hair shaft.

Hair Growth Cycle

Your hair follows a natural growth cycle that is split into three distinct phases:

  1. Anagen (Growth Phase): Lasting 2-7 years, this is when your hair actively grows.
  2. Catagen (Transition Phase): This phase lasts about two weeks when your hair follicle shrinks and detaches from the blood supply.
  3. Telogen (Resting Phase): Lasting around three months, the old hair rests while new hair grows underneath.

Causes of Hair Loss

Hair loss can occur due to various reasons:

  • Genetic Factors: Androgenetic alopecia is common and driven by a combination of genes and hormones.
  • Hormonal Changes: Pregnancy, childbirth, or menopause can lead to hair loss.
  • Medical Conditions: Alopecia areata, thyroid diseases, and scalp infections may trigger hair loss.
  • Medications: Drugs used for cancer, depression, arthritis, and heart issues can cause hair loss.
  • Lifestyle Factors: Stress, poor diet, and excessive styling can significantly affect hair health.

What Are Exosomes, and How Do They Work?

Exosomes are small vesicles released by cells in the body, containing various proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids. These tiny structures play a significant role in cell-to-cell communication, as they can transfer information and molecules between cells.

In the context of hair restoration, exosomes are believed to promote hair growth and improve the overall health of the scalp. When applied topically or injected into the scalp, exosomes can achieve the following:

  • Stimulate the proliferation of hair follicle cells
  • Increase blood flow to the hair follicles
  • Reduce inflammation

Dr. Alizadeh recommends exosomes for hair restoration because they can rejuvenate and revitalize damaged or aging hair follicles. Unlike traditional hair restoration methods, exosome therapy offers a targeted and minimally invasive approach to addressing hair loss and promoting growth. By leveraging the natural regenerative capabilities of exosomes, Dr. Alizadeh aims to provide patients with a safe and innovative treatment option for achieving fuller, healthier hair without the need for surgical intervention.

What Are the Benefits of ExoBoost for Hair Restoration?

ExoBoost offers several benefits for hair growth:

  • Promotion of Hair Growth: The exosomes used in our ExoBoost treatment deliver growth factors like WNT1, STAT3, and VEGF to stimulate hair follicles, leading to increased hair density and thickness.
  • Cellular Communication: They improve cell communication, creating a better environment for hair regrowth on the scalp.
  • Reduction of Inflammation: Exosomes have anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce scalp inflammation, a factor in hair loss.
  • Minimal Downtime: Unlike hair transplant surgery, exosome therapy is minimally invasive, allowing for a shorter recovery period.
  • Safety Profile: Since exosomes occur naturally in the body, they are generally considered safe and carry a lower risk of adverse reactions.

Am I a Good Candidate for ExoBoost?

When considering ExoBoost hair restoration treatments, keep the following in mind:

  • Early stages of hair thinning typically respond better
  • Advanced hair loss may require combined approaches
  • Ideal candidates are in good general health
  • Underlying conditions should be well-managed
  • There is no specific age restriction, but younger individuals may experience more pronounced results
  • Active scalp infections or skin diseases might disqualify you
  • Cancer patients or those with a history of malignancy require careful evaluation

Fat Grafting with Exosomes to Face

Fat grafting with exosomes can enhance facial rejuvenation by improving volume and stimulating tissue repair. This combination promotes smoother skin, reduces wrinkles, and encourages natural collagen production for a youthful, refreshed appearance.

How it works:

  1. Utilizing micro-liposuction techniques, we carefully extract fat using small cannulas.
  2. The fat is then processed using adinizer technology—an advanced method that traumatically exposes the stem cells (exosomes), essential for cell differentiation and rejuvenation.
  3. Following adinizing, the exosomes are collected as either millifat, microfat, or nanofat. This allows us to customize where we place the stem cells.

Stem Cells and Their Role in Plastic Surgery and Rejuvenation

Not all so-called “stem cell” procedures are the same. Stem cells refer to the body’s pluripotential cells that can activate and mediate changes throughout various tissues. In fetal development, these cells differentiate into the many specialized cells forming our organs, tissues, and body systems. By carefully leveraging this regenerative capacity using scientific principles, one can help improve the body’s form and function at any age. However, achieving the best outcomes requires specific key steps:

Harvest

The tissue must be obtained in an atraumatic manner, using the correct pressure gauge, instrumentation, and sterile technique.

It should have minimal exposure to air, extreme temperatures, and reduced time away from a blood supply (avascular time).

Donor

Dr. Alizadeh selects donor sites known to contain the highest quality and quantity of regenerative cells, such as bone marrow or adipocytes (fat) under the skin. Please note that not all “stem cell” or “exosome” products are the same. Some may be sourced from other individuals (increasing infection risk), different species, or even plants (potential cross-contamination or immune rejection). With ExoBoost, Dr. Alizadeh uses your own tissue exclusively, ensuring a safe and reliable approach with millions of your own regenerative cells.

Processing

Dr. Alizadeh and his team use well-established guidelines and technologies—such as Puregraft for fat grafting and Adonizer for exosomes (and additional specialized systems for bone marrow)—to separate and purify components in a sterile manner. This process concentrates regenerative cells effectively by eliminating excess fluid and contaminants, maximizing the potential benefits.

Injection

Using accepted protocols and fine cannulas, Dr. Alizadeh injects small aliquots of the processed tissue or exosomes. These smaller, precise doses allow for better revascularization and integration, resulting in a faster recovery and more effective outcomes.
