Which Hair Restoration Treatment Options Does Dr. Alizadeh Offer?

PRF Hair Restoration

PRF, or “platelet-rich fibrin” hair restoration, uses a substance created from your blood to stimulate your existing hair follicles to produce healthier and thicker hair. PRF has been used for over twenty years to speed wound healing.

Platinum PRP 2.0

Platinum PRP 2.0 (highly concentrated Platelet Rich Plasma) uses a similar technology as PRF but isolates 5 times the regenerative cells, which are then injected into the scalp in areas where hair loss is observed

NeoGraft Semi-Automated Hair Transplantation

NeoGraft is a trademarked form of follicular unit extraction that harvests several healthy hair follicles from a donor site or sites and places these full follicular units in the bald or thinning areas where they repopulate.

FUE / Follicular Unit Extraction

FUE is an ideal hair restoration treatment for many patients as it’s rapid, safe, and useful. The way it harvests follicles—individually and requiring no removal of skin from the scalp—leaves no linear scars. When performing the FUE hair transplant at his private practice, Dr. Alizadeh extracts thriving follicles with a unique suction device to use them in areas in need of more hair.

Exoboost Hair Restoration

Exoboost hair restoration is an innovative approach that harnesses the regenerative power of exosomes, small extracellular vesicles derived from stem cells. These tiny messengers contain growth factors and signaling molecules that stimulate dormant hair follicles, promoting hair regrowth and thickness. Unlike traditional methods, exosome therapy for hair loss is minimally invasive and can potentially provide long-lasting results by rejuvenating and nourishing the scalp at a cellular level.

Why Is Hair Restoration in NYC needed?

Genetics, diet, the natural process of aging, and various medical conditions can play a role in whether a person will ever experience thinning hair or bald patches. By age 35, some 66 percent of men will experience at least some degree of hair loss. In many cases, this thinning and loss aren’t obvious, but for those for whom it is, PRF, Platinum PRP 2.0, NeoGraft, FUE, and EcoBoost are often the best treatment options.

Maximizing Your Hair Restoration Outcome

To ensure the sustained excellence of your hair restoration outcomes, we advise a regimen of regular treatments. Patients have the option to select individual treatments, including PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) administered 3 times annually, Exosome therapy 1 time yearly, or PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) treatments administered 2 times yearly. For enhanced results, patients may opt to combine these treatments. However, at a minimum, adhering to this scheduled regimen is paramount to maximizing the benefits of your hair restoration journey.

Hair Restoration vs Hair Transplants

Hair restoration is a process that restores thicker, healthier hair growth in an area of the scalp where the hair is thinning or balding. Hair restoration may involve a number of different treatments, medications or other procedures, including hair transplants.

A hair transplant is a specific process in which hair follicles are moved from one part of the scalp to another. Follicles are carefully removed from an area with thick, dense hair growth, usually at the back of the head. These are inserted into the thin or bald area to effectively restore hair growth.

Hair restoration can be performed on more than just the scalp. With modern, advanced techniques, hair restoration can achieve thick, healthy hair growth in the following areas:

Hair Restoration FAQs

When can I return to work?

Most patients can return to work after a few days. Tiny scabs will form around the newly implanted hairs. These will fall off in about ten days. Some patients prefer not to return to work until they are gone.

Is it painful?

Your treatment is performed with a local anesthetic, making the experience pain-free. Longer procedures that transplant a greater number of hairs may require more anesthetic to be applied during the treatment so that you are comfortable throughout.

Will there be scarring?

The punctures are extremely tiny, leaving unnoticeable scars. Patients can wear their hair at any length.

How long before I can go in public?

Within 2-3 days, you will be recovered enough to return to your usual activities, but there will still be scabbing on your scalp which may cause self-consciousness. You can wear a hat or covering over your hair, or wait until the scabs rub off after ten days.

Do I need anesthesia?

Local anesthesia is used, but general anesthesia is not required for FUE or PRP procedures.

What's the cost of hair transplants in NYC?

Hair transplant cost in NYC varies, depending upon the number of follicles transplanted. Some patients require fewer grafts for a smaller balding area. Others would like a more extensive restoration. Cost is calculated per hair graft. On average, the cost ranges between $4,000 to $12,000.

How long does the procedure take?

Hair transplantation takes 4-8 hours, depending on the number of grafts required.

Can women get hair restoration?

Hair restoration is designed for women as well as men. Any person noticing their hair becoming thinner, their part becoming wider and more visible, or seeing the appearance of balding areas can have hair restoration treatments to reverse these effects.

Will my results look natural?

Yes, the goal of hair restoration is to create a natural appearance. During your consultation, your surgeon will plan the placement, direction, and density of hair follicles to match your natural growth pattern, resulting in a seamless, authentic look. Skilled surgeons work carefully to ensure that hairlines and overall hair distribution appear as natural as possible.

Can hair restoration help improve scarred areas on the scalp?

Yes, hair restoration can often be used to cover scarred areas on the scalp. For patients who have scarring from prior surgeries, injuries, or burns, transplanting hair follicles into these areas can help blend scars with surrounding hair, making them less visible and providing a more uniform look.
